Last night was " Rookie Pitchers Debut Night" as the Volcanoes sent 8 different pitchers to the mound, 5 of them seeing action for the first time. Alex Bostrum began with a strong outing giving up just 1 hit in 2/3 of an inning. DeAndre Henderson got his first batter to strike-out, J.C. Elmer recorded his first career strike-out as well, Chris Gould retired the side in the 2nd firing strike after strike from the hill. Anthony DiMauro made a great defensive play, knocking down a hard hit ball and  throwing to first for the put out .Nicholas Mellilo mopped up the 4th with a strike out and defensive gem, stabbing a hard hit ball up the middle. Mike Flynn pitched the 5th and helped his cause with a line drive smash over the first baseman for a double,. Ryan Tobin got 2 strike outs to close it out. Each pitcher tipped his hat to the cheering crowd as they left the mound.
This group of young players proved they have the right stuff and will be the shining stars of this league in the near future.
